Starting Out

I grew-up in the remote Chilcotin region of British Columbia where the only
mode of transportation was horses. Spending many years in the saddle , as a
Guide-outfitter and Packer gave me an appreciation of quality and fit in the
construction of saddles and riding equipment . In 1960 I met and married my
wife Lila , and started the well known " Thompson Saddlery " in Vancouver,
B.C. where we built custom saddles and a wide range of related leather goods.
In 1974 we moved the shop to Langley B.C. where we continued work as before,
till I sold out in 1986  In 1987 we moved to Vernon in the Okanagan Valley, of
British Columbia and started " Okanagan Saddlery " and continued in the same
tradition as before
