Custom Made Western Saddles

         All my Western Saddles are made to order, none are kept in
stock. This means that when you order a one of my Custom Made
Saddles it allows you to add that personal touch that sets your saddle
apart from all the rest. With 45 years experience in the building of
Custom Made Saddles, I feel I have the expertise to provide you with
the quality of work you desire.
         Keep in mind that each of the Hand Made Western Saddles you see
here have been  made to someone’s individual needs.  If you would like to 
have a style that you do not see here, describe it and I will build it for you,
just give me a call !     
         
I build Custom Western Saddles in all styles, Ranch saddles, Trail
riding saddles, Old time saddles, Roping saddles, Cutting boards, Barrel
racing saddles to name a few.
        All my Custom Saddles are made using the finest full grain Saddle
Leather, Hardware and Sheepskin. The cantles, horn covers, and all stress
points are hand stitched . Each  piece is individually cut, shaped and fitted
by hand to give lasting quality and appearance. All saddles leave our shop
oiled, and with pre-twisted stirrup leathers and are ready to ride.

The Richard
This saddle will be used in the Owens Valley,

The Owens Valley is close to Bishop California

This saddle was made on a Bull-hide covered,
Weatherly tree with 10 inch swells,  a 4 inch
cantle with a 1 1/2 inch dish and a hard style
16 inch seat.  The rigging is 3/4 double using
Bronze E/Z dee’s. The large squire skirts are
lined with sheepskin.  The stirrup leathers are
half-double 3 inches wide, and are run through
the rigging dee’s to provide that extra forward
swing and are fitted with Blevins buckles. The
horn is polished brass with a 1 & 3/4 inch cap
3 & 1/2 inches high. The saddle is fitted with
Classic style saddle bag’s 11 inches wide, by
11 inches deep,  with a 3 inch soft gusset and
welted seams.

The Gary Rouck

In early 1900 hundreds Mr. Rouck’s
grandfather brought a saddle that
he rode for many years and later passed
on to his son who later passed it on to his
son who in 1988 brought it to me to be
rebuilt, he then displayed it in his home
in his grandfathers honor . In 1997 the
saddle was stolen from his home and he
asked me to build a duplicate of that
saddle from memory, this is the saddle
that I made to replace the saddle that
was lost

Association Saddle

Made on a Bull-hide covered, 16 inch
Association tree with 14 inch swells,
and a 4 inch cantle with a 1 & 1/2 inch
dish.  The rigging is 3/4 double, with
bronze E/Z dee’s. This saddle has round,
skirts with full sheepskin lining. The
stirrup leathers are half double
 3 inches
wide, and run through rigging dee’s they
have Blevins buckles. The horn has a
2 & 1/2 inch cap, 3’’ high, with Rawhide
braiding. The 
saddle bag’s are built into
the saddle skirts and are not removable.
They are my Classic style bags,  8 inches
wide, by 10 inches deep, with a 2 inch soft
gusset and welted seams

The Weatherly

This saddle is built on a Bull-hide
covered, Weatherly tree with 10
inch swells, and a  4 inch cantle,
the seat is the hard style.  The
rigging is 3/4  double with bronze
E/Z  rigging plates. The skirts are
the large squire type, with full
sheepskin lining. The stirrup leathers
are half-double, 
3 inches wide, with
full forward swing and run through
rigging dee’s. The horn is Polished Brass
with a 1 & 3/4 inch cap  3 & 1/2 inches high    
The bags are the Classic style 11 inches
wide, by 11 inches deep,  with a 3 inch hard
gusset and welted seams.

The Ellensburg Roper

Bull-hide covered, Ellensburg tree with 14
inch swells, and a 3 inch cantle. The rigging
is 7/8  double, with bronze E/Z dee’s. Skirts
are square with rounded corners, and full
sheepskin lining. Stirrup leathers are half-
double, to lace, 3 inches wide, with full forward
swing and run through the rigging dee’s.
The horn has a 3 inch cap 3 3/4 inches high,
and is leather covered. 

The All-Around

This saddle was made for a Ranch hand
that rides for the Gang Ranch in central B.C.
The Gang’s summer range extends over a huge
area of some of the most scenic country in B.C.
The hands go out in the late spring and stay out
in cow camps till the fall roundup. A lot of the
camps can only be supplied by pack horses as
they are so remote, so the riders need the best
of equipment. The Gang Ranch is one of the
biggest ranches in North America.

Made on a Bull-hide covered Form-fit tree, with 14 1/2 inch swells and a 5 inch
cantle. The rigging is 3/4 double, with bronze E/Z dee’s. Stirrup leathers are
3 inch half-double to lace with full forward swing and run through the rigging
dee’s. The skirts are squire, with round corners, and full sheepskin lining. The
horn has a 2 1/2 inch cap, 3 inches high, with a rawhide braided neck. Rawhide
lacing is used on the cantle, swells, horn, back jockey, top of saddle bags and
rigging. The saddle bags, measure 11 1/2 inches wide, by 12 inches deep, with
a 3 1/2 gusset. The breast plate is 3 1/4 inches wide, with a wide front strap to
the chinch.

Association Saddle

Made on a Bull-hide covered, 14 inch
Association tree with 14 inch swells,
and a 4 inch cantle. The rigging is 3/4
double, with bronze E/Z dee’s. This
saddle has round, skirts with full
sheepskin lining. The stirrup leathers
are half double
 3 inches wide, and run
through the rigging dee’s, they are made
to lace. The horn has a 2 & 1/2 inch cap,
3’’ high, with Rawhide braiding.

The Bob Crosby Roper

Bull-hide covered, Bob Crosby tree, with
13 inch swells and a 3 1/2 inch cantle. 3/4
double rigged with bronze E/Z dee’s. The
skirts are round, with full sheepskin lining.
The stirrup leathers are half-double 3
inches wide, to lace. The horn has a 3 1/2 inch
cap, 3 inch high, with leather binding.

Chuck Shepard Roper

This saddle has a Bull-hide covered, Chuck
Shepard tree, with 13 inch swells. The seat
is padded in rough-out leather. The rigging is
7/8 double in skirt rigging, with stainless steel
hardware. The stirrup leathers are half-double
with Blevins buckles. The horn is 3 inches high
with a 2 & 1/2 inch cap. Matching Classic style
saddle bag’s 11 inches wide, by 12 inches deep,
with a 3 inch soft gusset and welted seams, along
with a 3 1/4 inch wide breast plate complete this
saddle.

The Nina

This saddle has a Ultra Hide covered,
Association tree with 14 inch swells,
and a 4 inch cantle. The rigging 
 is 3/4
double, with bronze E/Z dee’s. Stirrup
leathers are 3 inch half-double to lace
with full forward swing and run through
the rigging dee’s. This saddle has round
skirts with sheepskin lining. The horn has
a 2 & 1/2 inch cap with a 3 inch neck,
leather covered. 
Matching Trail Rider style
saddle bag’s  8 & 1/2 inches wide, by 10
 inches deep, a  3 1/4 inch wide breast plate,
and a Old Timer bridle complete this saddle.
The saddle is made in rough-out leather with
burgundy latigo lacing on the swell cover &
back housing.

The Don O’Dell

Made on a Bull-hide covered Form-fit tree,
with 14 1/2 inch swells and a 5 inch cantle.
The rigging is 3/4 double, with bronze E/Z
dee’s. Stirrup leathers are 3 inch half-double
to lace with full forward swing and run through
the rigging dee’s. The skirts are round with full sheepskin lining. The horn has a 2 1/2 inch cap,
3 inches high, with a rawhide braided neck.
The 
tapaderoes are 18 inches long made in
one piece.

The Ken Johnson

Built on a Bull-hide covered, Form-fit tree,
with 14 inch swells, and 3 inch comfort cantle
with a Cheyenne roll. 
This saddle has squire,
skirts with a full sheepskin lining. The stirrup
leathers are half double
 3 inches wide, and run
through the rigging dee’s, with Blevins buckles.
The horn has a 2 & 1/2 inch cap,  3’’ high, with
a Rawhide braided neck. The matching  bags
are in the Classic style 11 inches wide, by 12
inches deep, with a 3 inch soft gusset and welted
seams. The floral carving is in russet color and is accented with a black background. I built this
saddle with matching bags, breast collar,
scabbard, chaps and bridle,

The Outfitter

Made on a Bull-hide covered Form-fit tree,
with 14 1/2 inch swells and a 5 inch cantle.
The rigging is 7/8 double in skirt rigging,
with bronze plates.  
Stirrup leathers are
3 inch half-double to lace with full forward
swing and run through the rigging dee’s.
The skirts are squire, with round corners,
and full sheepskin lining. The horn has a
2 & 1/2 inch cap, 3 inches high. Rawhide
is used on the cantle binding & horn binding.

The Pollard

Made on a Bull-hide covered Form-fit tree,
with 14 1/2 inch swells and a 5 inch cantle.
The rigging is 3/4 double Z/E,
with bronze plates. Stirrup leathers are
3 inch half-double to lace with full forward
swing and run through the rigging dee’s.
The skirts are round and have full sheepskin
lining. The horn has a 2 & 1/2 inch cap, 3
inches high. The Buckaroo style saddle bag’s,
are 9 & 1/2 inches wide, 10 & 1/2 inches deep.
A matching breast plate and an old style
tapered headstall, with conchos down the
cheek complete this outfit.
